Executive Order

As of July 1, 2021 the state of Maine has 73% of citizens with the first vaccine shot and 65% of citizens who are fully vaccinated. This is fantastic news for the continued effort put into ending the COVID-19 pandemic and getting life back on track as much as possible!

The governor has lifted the state of emergency revolving around the COVID-19 pandemic, in compliance with risk assessment based on CDC data. This news comes with a state-wide lift on mask mandates for vaccinated (and non-vaccinated) people. It is assumed that there will be a lift on gathering sizes and indoor activities can resume as they were before. If you are still unvaccinated, have health concerns, or are under the age of 12; it is still in your best interest to follow previous guidelines regarding masks, social distancing, and disengaging from group meet ups.

On the horizon:

The “Delta Variant” of COVID-19 is spreading rapidly throughout the world and from cursory research, it can penetrate some of the vaccines that have been created. We are monitoring this closely and things may need to change/adapt to keep things safe in the future. Please be patient and understanding with any future twists COVID may cause.

What this means for Maine Furs:

The admin team has decided to allow in-person meets of all kinds to be posted and advertised in the chats again. There will not be a requirement for any proof of vaccination, mask wearing enforced (unless the establishment requires it), or the likes. Power is back in the hands of the meet coordinator to maintain a safe environment for attendees.

There will be a follow up post regarding the formatting of meets, who to reach out to for one to be pinned, and expectations once word of the ban being lifted has circulated a bit.

Please reach out to Bandit or any of the admin team if you have any personal concerns and we will do our best to address them on a 1 on 1 basis.

Hello, as you may know the state of Maine is proceeding with a long-term reopening of businesses and activities in an attempt to combat the health risks of COVID-19 and the economical hardships the pandemic has caused to Mainers. In accordance with the governors orders as of June 1 (Monday) gatherings of 50 or fewer people will be allowed.

With this news we are pleased to announce that we will allow the advertisement of local Maine fur meets once again. This is with great caution and understanding that COVID-19 has not gone away and you are urged to take every precaution to keep your fellow furs safe.

Cumberland County and York County have far more strict restrictions than other counties right now. Please remember to keep track of where your meet is to ensure the proper safety protocol is being followed. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to message me (or any of the admin team) here or in DM’s.
