Covid-19 Update

Positive testing is going to be common for social events in the foreseeable future and doing your part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and keep yourself safe and healthy. While there is a risk of sickness in hosting public meets like this, we still encourage them to continue to happen. This decision may change if the CDC changes their outlook or if there is a newer, more dangerous, strain of COVID-19 that comes to light.

If you have any questions, concerns, or need help finding testing materials or labs that do testing; please reach out to @Spadge_Draconia or @adminlist (in the Maine Furs Chat) in general.

More free COVID test kits

USPS is doing another round of COVID-19 test kits! Get ’em for free here.

Additionally, your local pharmacy can supply you with up to 8 free test kits (That’s 4 Binax boxes, for example) within a rolling 30 day period on MOST insurances (Anthem tends to prefer you to purchase kits outright, and then submit the receipt). You can either check their website, or go in and ask, and they’ll be able to handle that for you. Just remember to be patient, pharmacy people are very tired and frazzled right now!

Friday Night Pool Nights

So the schedule for the public pool changes on November 21 and the Friday night block will no longer be available. However, they have created open swim at the same time on Thursday nights every week except it is one hour shorter than usual. This should change back after the high school swimming season is over.

Who is OK with doing Thursday instead of Friday for a while? Or, should we just make tonight be the last one for a bit?
